Not the best way to start the year in terms of magazine covers, but what can you do. While there’s no denying that Anne Hathaway is the perfect choice of cover star for February (especially with the release of Les Miserables just around the corner) we can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed with the David Slijper lensed image Harper’s Bazaar UK chose for the front cover. Something about the camera angle and Anne’s pose is a bit eerie and isn’t quite doing it for us.
Nevertheless, what the cover lacks the rest of the magazine makes up for in terms of the stunning designer wardrobe Anne is sporting, as she is modelling garments from the likes of Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen to name but a few.
The actress gives a great interview too, comparing herself to Rihanna and claiming she doesn’t have any “sex appeal” – although we beg to differ!
”I’m not Rihanna; I’m not cool,” Anne said. ”When people come up to me in the street, they often want a hug not a photo, and they want that because they like my work.”
“I was seen as this bizarre-world good-girl cartoon that I in no way identified with – very vanilla, very sweet, very accessible and not interesting.”
We have to disagree with that last part! Harper’s Bazaar’s February issue is out today, so hurry to those newsagents before it sells out!
