The sartorial big guns were out for the Cleopatra premiere at the Cannes Film Festival – so much so that we actually developed a bit of a migraine trying to narrow down our best-dressed ladies. Lots of arguments at MFL HQ about who would secure a top spot!
Dita von Teese was easily one of the best-dressed, looking like red hot sexy vintage goddess in a lacy Elie Saab Couture dress. Her flawless porcelain skin, old Hollywood curls and ruby stained lips contributed to the look’s overall wow factor!
Also going for the classic Hollywood look was Jessica Chastain, who took our breath away in a white floor-length Versace collection dress. The hair, the jewellery – we loved it all!
Rosario Dawson killed it on the red carpet in a floor-length bedazzling Marchesa Resort gown. Not only did it fit in with the Cleopatra theme, but it was also exactly what we expect from a Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Full-on glamour and sparkle!
Araya A Hargate also gets a mention for channelling a Disney princess on the red carpet; we’re not sure which one though – maybe an infusion of all of them? We thought she looked magical in her Zac Posen spring/summer 2013 gown – the bodice makes it harder to pull off than a normal fairytale-inspired dress might, but we think she owned it! What do you guys think?
