This year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists have just been revealed, and the competition is hotter than ever before. The ten finalists battling it out for financial support ($300,000) and professional mentoring are:
Misha Nonoo of Nonoo (Resort 2014 look pictured), Tim Coppens, Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard of Veronica Beard, Dao-Yi Chao and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, Marc Alary of Marc Alary Jewelry, Juan Carlos Obando, Parabellum’s Commodore Jason Jones, Tome’s Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin, Shimon and Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons, and Todd Snyder. Phew – aaand breathe!
The winner will be announced in New York in November, with the likes of Reed Krakoff and Rag & Bone designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville on the selection committee. The two runners-up will also receive $100,000 as well as professional mentoring.
Previous winners include Proenza Schouler and Joseph Altuzarra, so we know just how important sponsorship and mentoring can be. Good luck to everyone!
