Fair to say, we’re welcoming autumn/winter’s darker tones with open arms. As the sartorial spectrum travels from frothy summer hues and giddy prints to more serious, pared back silhouettes and shades, the red carpet is offering a constant stream of delectable looks that are no-brainers for our BDOTW accolade!

And that’s why Olivia Wilde, in a greyish-blue J.Mendel pre-fall 2013 number, simply had us at hello! As she attended the screening of her latest movie, Drinking Buddies, in Brooklyn, Olivia cut an elegant figure in the simple yet striking, cut-out detail dress.

The gorgeously flared skirt, interesting figure-hugging detail on the top half and next to nothing accessories made for an applause-worthy look. Completing Olivia’s look were nude Louboutin ‘Croisilleta’ sandals, a fine bracelet and her softly tousled, centre-parted ombré hair worn down.
