Who says you have to stick to dark, wintry shades in December?

Alicia Keys defied seasonal sartorial conventions and walked the ARIA Awards red carpet in Sydney, Australia in a bright, figure-hugging floor-length cut-out dress by British Designer of the Year 2012, Stella McCartney. (Stella has another few hours to hold onto that title before this year’s winner is announced at the British Fashion Awards later today.)

The sexy singer also put her own stamp on the pixie cut that has become the hottest haircut of the year by way of a seriously edgy gravity-defying quiff, and definitely gave one of the most popular red carpet dresses a new lease of life.

We think Alicia has the sass and attitude to pull the hair – and the outfit as a whole – off, and we adore the fact that she kept her make-up and accessories to a minimum save for a subtle pink lip and necklace that matched the belt detailing of the dress perfectly. No complaints over here!
