When Michelle Obama gets dressed up for a big event, she leaves no stone unturned. She ticks all of our sartorial boxes, and her appearance at the 36th Kennedy Center Honors Gala in Washington D.C was no exception.

The First Lady looked chic, regal, sophisticated and a little bit daring in a gorgeous turquoise floor-length off-the-shoulder ball gown by Marchesa.

She accessorised with a simple but oh so sparkly necklace, and added even more wow factor to her look with some big voluminous curls in her hair. We can’t see her choice of footwear, but we have every faith that she made a good decision.
