The stunning actress attended the New York premiere of her new film, Gimme Shelter, and absolutely owned the red carpet in a floor-sweeping black dress from the Monique Lhuillier spring/summer 2013 collection. We’d love to say that Vanessa has come a long way since her High School Musical days because we love a good style transformation story, but we think her red carpet style has always been on point.

Vanessa kept all other accessories to a minimum, leaving the dress and her effortless beauty to do all the talking, and kept her hair in a loose, slightly disheveled side plait to add a tough of edginess to a high-glamour look.
