Los Angeles charity The Art of Elysium has created the L’Wren Scott Amber Award in honour of the late designer who took her own life earlier this month.
The charity uses the arts to help children with serious illnesses, and the new award will be given to emerging fashion designers who will in turn donate some time to the children. The winner of the award will also create a small clothing line to be sold through The Art of Elysium’s website.
According to a spokesperson, L’Wren Scott’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Art of Elysium in her memory.
We think it’s a great way for L’Wren Scott’s legacy to live on while recognising new talent and helping the children at the same time.
