In summer, most people travel by plane for their vacation. Whether the flight is short or long haul, it’s best to think about what you’re going to wear.

Train travel is a little roomier than on a plane; you might even have a private cabin on some of them. If you’re travelling through warmer countries, opt for a t-shirt and a comfy pair of loose trousers to prevent overheating.

Also, remember to bring a bag or satchel for your snacks, drinks, and entertainment. In colder countries, you can usually wear some jeans comfortably.

Since a cruise is a unique mode of transport, you need a unique outfit to stay comfortable and stylish. A cruise is a vacation as well as travel. 

Aim for elegance and comfort on a cruise, something you can walk into a restaurant with but that wouldn’t look out of place on the deck or by the pool. A linen jumpsuit is a good choice or some dungarees made from cord. Pair this with a hat and some sandals for shade and comfort. Travelling by car is convenient and reliable; it is also a more comfortable way to travel since you can put all of your luggage and travel items in the back and simply enjoy the ride.

As with trains, car travel gives you the chance to see the landscape you are travelling through, but it has the added benefit of allowing you to stop whenever you please to get some air and take pictures. 

A car outfit needs to be comfortable, but it doesn’t need to be practical – there is no need to bring an additional bag, for instance. A light top with loose shorts or pants is a good idea; this helps to keep you cool and comfortable in a cramped back seat for a few hours.
