When we first heard that Allison Williams was lined up to star in Peter Pan Live, we naively assumed she was going to play the part of Wendy. So imagine our surprise when we learnt that she is actually playing the title role – Peter Pan himself! How cool is that? “We couldn’t be happier that Allison Williams is our Peter Pan,” said NBC Entertainment’s Robert Greenblatt. “She’s a lovely rising star on the award-winning show Girls – where she occasionally shows off her incredible vocal talent – and we think she will bring the perfect blend of ‘boyish’ vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken’s powerful Captain Hook.” And Allison Williams herself seems to be pretty chuffed about her new role too… “I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true,” she said. “It’s such an honour to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. “And besides what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?” We don’t want to think about what could potentially go wrong, as there are so many other things to get excited about! We can’t wait to see this when it airs on December 4th! [Glamour]

Jessica Lowndes vs. Allison Williams…Who rocked pink better?
Is pink the new red on the red carpet? Excuse all associated puns, but this year’s Academy Awards threw some unexpected looks our way, and, boy, were we pleased! Two such ladies making it straight to the top of our frock wars list are Jessica Lowndes and Allison Williams, who both took to the red carpet in exquisite pink gowns. And, although their looks aren’t identical, our favourite shade on the spring/summer 2014 rainbow has resulted in a one dress, two girls situ! Thinking pink (sorry) at the 22nd Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party was Jessica Lowndes, who opted for a bubblegum pink, strapless gown. Accessorising with a pale mint clutch, matching earrings and strappy gold sandals; heavy eye make-up and a glossy up-do completed the look. Catching up with the 90210 actress, however, was Allison Williams, who also wore an exquisite pink Emilia Wickstead dress to the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars party. Although it was a demure display, the dress featured an open back, contrasting beautifully with the high neck detail. Rounding off the look with large studs and a clutch, side-parted, slicked back hair and a glowing complexion completed the look. So, who wins this frock-off, then? Both ladies turned heads at their respective occasions, but, for us, Allison takes the style crown! There’s something utterly majestic about her modest-yet-sexy effort, don’t you agree? Read MoreAtlanta de Cadenet vs. Allison Williams…Who wore Valentino better?
Another week, another dress double-up. And don’t we just love to weigh in on a one dress, two girls kinda situation! This week, making us look twice (and hard) is DJ and model, Atlanta De Cadenet, and Girls star Allison Williams (yes, Marnie). Both ladies slipped into a stunning Valentino autumn/winter 2013 dress and, it’s safe to say, we were equally bowled over. Giving the thigh-grazing white number its first outing was Allison, who took to the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Music Awards looking resplendent. Pairing the embellished lace dress with simple black Louboutin pumps, enviable pins, strong eyes and a softly sweeping up-do, that beaming smile sealed the deal. But then, chasing Allison to the winning post was Atlanta de Cadenet, who sat pretty front row at the Valentino spring/summer 2014 show in Paris wearing the same dress. The super-hip daughter of Amanda de Cadenet gave us a punch of colour to go with the angelic white dress in the form of a crimson lip and killer red, strappy Valentino pumps. A glowing complexion, loosely tied back hair and box clutch completed the look. But, who wins in the style stakes this week? We’re going to ditch the prim and proper approach with a Valentino dress and go with Atlanta on this one. One thing a white dress desperately needs is a dash of eye-opening colour, and that Atlanta certainly did well. Although she looks great, Allison’s look just came off a little too vanilla for our liking. What are you thoughts? Whose look wins for you? [Images: Zimbio]
Read MoreLena Dunham, Allison Williams and the rest of the Girls cast wow on Season 3 premiere red carpet
Despite their distinctively different body shapes, sartorial tastes and wardrobe preferences, it looks like the four leading ladies of Girls actually sat down and discussed their Girls Season 3 premiere outfits prior to their arrival on the red carpet. How else would you explain their colour coordinated and complementary ensembles, eh? Girls creator Lena Dunham definitely pulled out all the stops with her appearance, opting to wear a sparkly Rochas full-length dress paired with matching pumps and sleek, straight hair. Jemima Kirke looked like a vintage goddess in her floor-length ivory dress, old Hollywood glamour hair and striking red lipstick, while Allison Williams, who has been reigning supreme on the February fashion glossies, didn’t disappoint either, channelling a modern day Princess in her silk Christian Dior dress. Zosia Mamet went for the simple option by choosing a chic Saint Laurent LBD; we love the hair and golden accessories too! Who was your best-dressed Girl?

We saw Girls creator and leading lady Lena Dunham on Marie Claire’s October issue last year, but she isn’t the only cast member to find herself fronting a fashion glossy, oh no. Allison Williams is also giving it a jolly good go, and we think she’s done a cracking job on the cover of InStyle UK‘s February issue. And with Girls Season 3 hitting the small screen in the UK later this month, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Our appetites have well and truly been whet! Allison models a number of gorgeous designs in her photoshoot, including Burberry, Michael Kors and of course the wonderful Miu Miu coat on the cover, and also opens up about being obsessed with Princess Diana, Lena Dunham, and the huge success of Girls. “When we first met, I felt like I’d known her forever – it was weird,” she said of Lena. “I’m very protective; it’s in my wiring. My rule is, ‘if it isn’t bugging Lena then it’s fine with me.’” And what about the success – and criticism – of Girls? “It was like a tidal wave, and I knew at some point it would all have to come washing back the other way, that there was going to be an equal and opposite reaction.” You can read the rest in the InStyle UK February issue – it looks like it’s going to be a good’un!
Read MoreThe LBD at its finest courtesy of Allison Williams
Our newest TV obsession is America’s Golden Globe winning show Girls – we don’t know what took us so long either – and we’re particularly hooked on the off-screen sartorial choices of its leading ladies. Allison Williams, who plays the part of Marnie Michaels, is the one of the show’s token hotties, and it’s not hard to see why thanks to her luscious locks, enviable bod and perfect skin (among other things). She can pretty much wear anything she wants, but we love how she kept things clean and simple in a trusty little black dress at the Girl Rising New York premiere. (FYI – Girl Rising is an incredible, inspirational film directed by Richard Robbins, recounting the extraordinary stories of nine girls around the world – narrated by big-name stars like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Freida Pinto, Kerry Washington and Salma Hayek among others. Click here to read more about this must-see film… plus it couldn’t be more appropriate for today, i.e. International Women’s Day!) If ever you feel bored of your little black dress, just look at this pic for proof that you can never go wrong with a trusty LBD. Sure, we might not all have access to this stunning version from the Christian Dior spring/summer 2013 collection, but the formula is still the same. Hair up, matching black pumps, fierce pose, winning smile – bam!

All the big names in fashion, film, and music gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night, for the highly anticipated Met Gala! This year, the museum was honouring Charles James, and the dress-code was a very simple (albeit slightly “boring” according to Marc Jacobs) “white tie and decorations”. Anyone familiar with the work of Charles James would know that elegant eveningwear was his thing, so they wouldn’t have gone wrong by donning the finest couture pieces with some elegant jewels. There were many ladies who absolutely nailed their looks, while some probably should have stayed home. Stella McCartney had a big moment on the red carpet, dressing the likes of Rihanna and Reese Witherspoon so flawlesslessly for the event, in two very different but equally stunning dresses. Rihanna went for her signature sexy look, while Reese was a vintage glamour goddess. Selena Gomez also wowed on the red carpet for us, looking very mature for just 21 years old in a bold deep purple Diane von Furstenberg dress. We also love how Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were reunited at the Met Gala – they both looked amazing in their respective Gucci Premiere and Emilio Pucci dresses. Not all of the ladies went for full-length or ballgown dresses (like Hayden Panettiere who looked like a Princess!) though – Solange Knowles and Lena Dunham were just two of the stars who went for something a little bit shorter. The impact definitely wasn’t lost though. Here are our best dressed celebs from last night’s Met Gala. Let us know who gets your vote in the comments below. Golden Globes time! Yep, it was the 71st annual Golden Globe Award ceremony in Beverly Hills yesterday, and the red carpet was once again full of the biggest and best-dressed names in Hollywood. TV and films stars alike came together for one of the biggest nights on the awards season calendar, and to say they pulled out all the sartorial stops would be a bit of an understatement, as we don’t think our list of best-dressed celebs has ever been this big! Lupita Nyong’o definitely stole the show for us with her effortlessly elegant Ralph Lauren caped look (we got flashbacks to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Tom Ford cape dress at the Oscars a few years ago) while Olivia Wilde and Camila Alves also made our jaws drop with their glittering gowns courtesy of Gucci Première and Dolce and Gabbana respectively. Unsurprisingly, Sofia Vergara went for the wow factor in a large Zac Posen dress, while Jennifer Lawrence went for a Dior dress, as was expected. Take a look at the full list of our best-dressed ladies below and let us know who took your breath away! And so it begins! The People’s Choice Awards officially marks the beginning of our favourite time of the year – awards season! It’s when you start to notice who will be dominating the red carpet over the coming weeks, not to mention who will be scooping up the shiny accolades. Yep, the People’s Choice Awards is the perfect ceremony to kick off the proceedings, and as a whole, we were quite impressed with what we saw on the all-important arrivals red carpet. Sandra Bullock, the lady we will be keeping our eye on throughout awards season, didn’t let us down as she gave us a bright, bold, print-tastic look thanks to her Peter Pilotto dress. Anna Faris went in the totally opposite direction, and went for chic, subtle and understated in a beaded Naeem Khan top and trouser combo hot off the spring/summer 2014 runway. Britney Spears also went for the nude theme (nude illusion, not Miley Cyrus naked) in a gorgeous Mikael D dress, while Jennifer Hudson also championed the minimal trend in a sleek white Kaufmanfranco dress. Take a look at our highlights from the People’s Choice Awards 2014 red carpet below and let us know who gets your best dressed vote. Pretty pastels are the only colour trend to be rocking this upcoming spring/summer 2014 season (as demonstrated by Girls star Allison Williams on her gorgeous InStyle UK February cover), and it looks like Kim Kardashian has also received that message loud and clear. The yummy mummy and soon-to-be Mrs Kanye West was snapped in a killer ensemble while on a shopping spree in Beverley Hills, no doubt adding more fabulous items to her already enviable wardrobe. It looks like all her hours in the gym getting her post-baby body back have paid off, as Kim showcased her ample cleavage in a skin-tight cropped top (was it too tight? We – and probably all the red blooded males in existence – don’t think so) and her world-famous derriere in a below-the-knee turquoise high-waisted pencil skirt. Kim accessorised with some stunning pastel pink Manolo Blahniks, and an oversized Celine coat that, let’s face it, will go with absolutely everything and never go out of style. Y’know, just in just in case you were tempted to get it for yourself and needed some reasons to justify it! Golden, perfectly styled hair and flawless goddess-like make-up completed her look. If only we looked that good while shopping…

The current Elle US issue featuring Mindy Kaling and a host of our other favourite women in TV (that’s Zooey Deschanel, Amy Poehler and Allison Williams, fyi) may have come under fire for various reasons, but we don’t think anyone is going to have any problems with the mag across the pond. Gorgeous model Cameron Russell has found herself on the Elle UK February issue – striking a pose in powder blue Dior, no less – and not only has she enticed us with her stunning cover image, but the opinionated feminist also gives us a gripping interview at the same time too. Brains as well as beauty – what’s not to love about her? Cameron was shot by Kai Z Feng and is rocking some seriously fierce and fabulous pieces in the accompanying editorial, including the tribal trend that we fell in love with all over again last year. The mag is out right now, so make sure you get your copy before it’s too late!

Your football-watching boyfriend may tell you otherwise, but the 2013 Emmy Awards were the biggest and most important event of the weekend, as the stars of our favourite television shows flocked to the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California last night. The red carpet was bursting with well-dressed actors and actresses from both sides of the pond, and although Girls star Allison Williams pretty much stole the show for us in her royal blue Ralph Lauren dress, there was a definite pale and interesting sartorial theme recurring. Zooey Deschanel, Claire Danes, January Jones, Kerry Washington and Rose Byrne were some of the ladies who went down the pastel pretty and pale look, while others like Sofia Vergara, Kaley Cuoco, Carrie Underwood and Alyson Hannigan went for big, bold, bright, and beautiful. Yesterday’s Bank Holiday Monday enabled us to stay up late on Sunday night and closely examine all the red carpet outfits from the 2013 MTV VMAS… and we know we weren’t the only ones to do so either. Akin to all great red carpets, the stars really brought their sartorial A games; we definitely felt a dress to impress theme going on. While some singers love to shock with their appearances, (yes Lady Gaga, we’re looking at you) outfits were a lot more toned down this time around; Mother Monster herself went for a classy and demure look in a stunning Prabal Guring number – and the rest of the musical stars followed suit! So we’ve pretty much exhausted the coverage from the 85th Academy Awards red carpet arrivals, but that doesn’t mean we’ve finished with this year’s Oscars altogether, oh no. In true Hollywood fashion, some pretty spectacular after-parties followed, and once again they came courtesy of Vanity Fair and Elton John. Cue another best-dressed list which was pretty hard to conduct because the famous faces of Tinsel Town really “brought it” in the sartorial sense. Some ladies continued with the elongated and elegant dresses (i.e. respective Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress winners Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway) while others decided to go more fun and flirty and flashed the flesh in some shape or form. Take a look at some of our favourite after-party looks – did yours make the list? In contrast to the Golden Globes, the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was a colourful affair. Held yesterday at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Hollywood’s leading actresses hit the red carpet in a riot of shades from electric blue to canary yellow, emerald green and shimmering metallic’s. Admittedly, some of the outfits left us feeling a tad confused and disappointed (we shall refrain from naming and shaming). However, for us here at MFL, starlets including Halle Berry, Alison Williams and Susan Kelechi Watson knocked it right out of the park. Here’s a round-up of our faves. After looking at celebs dressed to the nines for the Oscars and respective after parties for the past few days, we definitely think it’s time to look at some casual celeb style. And nothing gets more casual than airport style, right? Well sort of; we’d say that’s about half right. Although you’ll usually find us at the airport in a onesie and a matching animal print neck pillow and a stash of the latest fashion glossies, Emma Watson actually went for something far chicer. The former Harry Potter darling was spotted at London’s Heathrow Airport after a long haul flight back from Hollywood (she was prettying up the red carpet at the Oscars, in case anyone needed reminding!), rocking a black and white Sandro dress with the must-have coat of the season, a Burberry trench. She added some dark Rayban sunnies to hide any signs of tiredness from the long flight or from partying too much – or maybe even a little bit of both – and wore flat loafers for comfort. A perfect chic but comfy airport look from one of our fave young English acting talents; way to go Emma! [Image]
