It’s usually quite awkward when you see someone wearing a similar dress to you, but we reckon it would be somewhat mortifying to run into someone at a close and intimate affair like a wedding and find them wearing the same thing! Well, that’s exactly what happened to Kate Middleton at the weekend, as she attended the wedding of Lucy Meade and Charlie Budgett in her trusty M Missoni coat that another guest was wearing too! Yikes! The copy-Kate wedding guest is as yet unnamed but we would be interested to know who she is so if anyone has any deets feel free to send them our way! You may remember that the Duchess of Cambridge first wore the M Missoni coat – which she reportedly bought at Bicester Village at a discounted price – back in 2012 at Fortnum and Mason with the Queen and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. We guess that’s the danger of recycling your outfits when you’re such a style icon! Do you think this incident might put an end to Kate’s recycling? [Images]

Read MoreKate Middleton wears £49.99 Zara dress the day after the royal wedding
She may have had two McQueen dresses in one day, but Kate Middleton’s keen to prove she’s still the peoples’ princess, stepping out in a £49.99 Zara dress the day after her marriage to Prince William. Eschewing designer labels in favour of her high street favourites, the Duchess of Cambridge chose to celebrate her first day as a real royal in a cornflower blue pleated polyester dress from Zara and a pair of patent black wedges from L.K. Bennett which cost £129.99 – a friendly reminder that her feet are firmly on the ground, despite her elevated title, if ever there was one. Whilst the outfit’s nothing exciting – it’s classic Kate – it is refreshing to see her steering towards more fashion forward retailers like Zara, as well as sticking by her tried and tested stores. We’ve checked Zara and the dress has sold out in the UK, but it’s still available to buy in the US, so not only, we suspect, is it a recent purchase, US readers can still get your hands on it if you’re quick. As for the shoes, we can’t find them anywhere on L.K. Bennett’s website, so we figure they’re probably past season (but hey, with a bit of luck, they’ll be reissued soon). A girl after our own hearts?

It’s here! Kate’s dress is here! And it’s white-ivory! And beautiful! And it’s MCQUEEN! Ok, we’ll calm down for a second, but seriously, doesn’t she look incredible? After all kinds of speculation (and all kinds of denials, might we add), Sarah Burton did get the commission of a lifetime to design our new princess’s dress, and as we expected, it’s all kinds of amazing. Long sleeves, lace upper body with an elongated neckline, a fluid ivory & white silk gazar skirt and a modest 2.7 metre train, it’s definitely a Grace Kelly moment. We’re waiting for better photos to trickle their way online, so we’ll be back with a more detailed analysis of the dress, her hair, and what this means for Kate’s fashion politics soon. Until then, marvel in the McQueen beauty.

Read More5 Wedding Dress Styles That Can Make you stunning on Your Wedding Day
Trying on wedding gowns is one of the most memorable parts of the wedding planning process, and it’s natural to experience the worry of never finding “the one.” We saw a lot of toned-down looks last year, with more modest silhouettes and minimal accents dominating the bridal fashion scene. This was unsurprising given that many couples were having mini-weddings and at-home ceremonies, which necessitated more casual wedding gowns. However, for 2022, fashions are returning to their dazzling and eye-catching roots! Brides want to make a statement with detachable sleeves and cascading ruffles. To help you find the perfect wedding dress, Ombreprom has rounded up the top 5 wedding dress styles that can make you stunning on your wedding day so that you don’t have to waste months researching what’s hot right now. 3D Flower Appliques 3D flower appliques will look stunning on your dress, whether big flowers or subtle petal details. They alter a traditional gown to make it more romantic and high-fashion. It’s not a recent trend, but it’s one of the most beautiful. You can choose between little elements, such as tiny rose petals, and large flowers, such as full-blooming roses. This style of gown is ideal for spring and summer, and it will make you look much more romantic and lovable. It goes well with tiny, elegant jewelry. Square Neckline Wedding Dresses If this trend makes you think of the 90s and early aughts, we’re with you—and we couldn’t be happier. Wedding gowns in 2022 are likely to include square necklines on the sleeves and backs. If you’ve got a large or small bust, this is a perfect option for your wedding day, as it provides support or coverage while also giving the illusion of cleavage by displaying more of your decolletage. Square necklines are regal enough […]

Marking their first public engagement together without their husbands, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle took to Wimbledon to watch Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber battle it out in the ladies final and we can only assume Meghan was rooting for Serena considering they’re best buds (the tennis star was a guest at the Royal Wedding). Pictured laughing and chatting away, the sisters-in-law stuck to their signature style for the occasion. Meghan opted for a Ralph Lauren striped shirt and white wide-leg trousers while Kate wore a Jenny Packham knee-length summer dress with nude heels. Both ladies looked lovely as usual and hopefully we’ll get to see the Duchesses enjoying quality time together in the near future.

The Middleton’s have quite a bit to celebrate this year. Not only is Kate Middleton having her third baby but it appears that Pippa Middleton and hubby James Matthews are also expecting. As revealed by The Sunday Express the couple whom married in May 2017 are indeed having a baby. This is Pippa and James’ first child and naturally the mother-to-be is “thrilled and overjoyed” a friend tells The Sunday Express. Having already undergone her 12-week scan, Kate was the second person after James Matthews to be informed of her sister’s pregnancy and she was said to be “delighted” upon hearing the news. Pippa is reportedly due in October, and with Kate about to drop anytime soon, a Royal Wedding on the way and another baby to be expected from the Middleton camp, 2018 is sure to be a year to be remembered.
Read MoreWho will design Meghan Markle’s wedding dress?
It’s safe to say that it’s a matter of “when” rather than “if” Meghan and Harry will tie the knot. So the bigger question really is, who will design Meghan Markle’s wedding dress? Before we speculate, what we can say with certainty is that her dress won’t resemble the wedding dress she wore as her character Rachel Zane in Suits (not even a little bit). Speaking to Glamour, Meghan categorically states that Rachel’s wedding dress is not her “personal style”. So whilst that narrows down her choice of dress ever so slightly (and we mean VERY slightly as there’s still a ton of other styles she could opt for), who will have the honour of designing her wedding dress is a mystery! As we excitedly wait for an official announcement as well as confirmation of the chosen designer, we’ve put together a mini list of the designers we predict will be in the running. 1. Victoria Beckham Already a close friend of the family (the Beckham’s were guests at Kate and William’s wedding) according to reports if Harry has his way then the former Spice Girl will be the designer of choice. Meghan’s worn Victoria’s designs on a number of occasions and if all goes to plan, Meghan and Harry and the Beckham’s may be neighbours in the not-so-distant future, further cementing their friendship. 2. Roland Mouret Meghan and Roland Mouret became fast friends after an encounter in Istanbul in which Mouret declared how much he’d love to dress the actress. Responsible for the infamous galaxy dress and loved by many celeb starlets, Mouret is the ideal candidate. Both Meghan and Mouret have declared their fondness of each other with pics on Instagram, and having a friend design her dress would make her big day even more special. 3. Erdem Ok, now admittedly […]
Read More5 Steps to Finding the Wedding Dress of Your Dreams
The process to find the wedding dress of a bride’s dreams can be a long and exciting one but for those who are on a budget, it can be a daunting prospect too. However, with a firm idea of what is necessary in the process to find an ideal wedding down will help reduce the stress in finding it. Tip one: Find a helpful wedding boutique After researching possible styles, trends and silhouettes, a bride and her party should make an appointment with a bridal shop to see what designer wedding dresses are available and gain help and advice; helpful sales assistants can be invaluable. It helps if the rails effectively showcase the wedding dresses so a bride can see whether they are for her. Also, visiting a boutique should be unforgettable experience. Tip two: Avoid weekends Wedding boutiques are busier at weekends and for the more popular outlets it will be difficult to get a suitable weekend appointment at short notice. Brides should try to make an appointment early in the day when they have enthusiasm and energy to try on several dresses but not too many. However, by visiting a bridal shop during the week, a bride and her party will have more time to try on dresses and ask the boutique owner or sales staff more questions. Tip three: Be prepared A simple tip but one that is often overlooked. Brides should read bridal magazines and visit websites before their appointment to get an idea of the styles of designer wedding dresses and which will suit their body shape best. This idea of browsing online will also enable a bride to compile a shortlist of wedding dresses that they find suitable. Tip four: Dress appropriately It’s always a good idea to wear their underwear for their wedding […]

Amal Alamuddin, i.e one of the luckiest women in the world, doesn’t look like she’s nervous about tying the knot in a few days. And why would she be? She’s marrying one of the most desirable men in the world! George Clooney’s gorgeous lucky bride-to-be (we said lucky already, but we feel it needs to be reiterated) was all smiles as she touched down in Milan yesterday, ahead of her wedding to the seemingly eternal bachelor. We love how she managed to look effortlessly cool in her ripped jeans and tee combo, and didn’t let the paps or the fact that she had her hands full with luggage phase her. And speaking of luggage… Our beady eyes noticed that she had a Stella McCartney garment bag flung over her shoulder, which could mean a number of things. Could she be walking down the aisle in a custom Stella McCartney creation, or was she carrying the bag for someone else to throw us off the scent? It’s rumoured that she’ll be doing a Kate Middleton and wearing gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, although no one is certain at the moment. We can’t wait for the big day to see the blushing bride and find out who made her dress. Not long to go now!

Read MoreStyle Jury: Kate Middleton vs Naomi Watts in the ultimate LWD!
It’s a regal competition today! TV and Film royalty, Naomi Watts faces off against… well, actually royalty in the form of Kate Middleton! Both ladies were seen stepping out in an LWD (little white dress) fit for a princess. With Naomi wearing the crochet dress during a commercial for Jacobs Creek, whilst Kate sported the dress not only during her tour Down Under earlier this year, but also at Wimbledon! Naomi Watts looks absolutely breath-taking. The summery dress is the epitome of evenings in the sun with a glass of wine. From the vineyards behind her to her natural tousled hair to her simple thread bracelets, Naomi glows. Her natural make-up accentuates the easy-going nature of her dress, making her look impossibly pretty. Kate wore the dress sometime later, and both styled their dresses very similarly. With both ladies opting for low-key accessories and make-up, it’s a tough call! Ever since that wedding dress Kate has become something of a Goddess to us mere mortals. Boys fancy her, girls want to dress like her, and we personally want to be her. Rarely putting a fashion forward Louboutin out of place, Kate graces royal events like their her own personal catwalks. Verdict:So who emerges our style queen?! It’s a close one, but Naomi edges it. Kate’s make-up seems heavier than Naomi’s and her pearl drop earrings and watch add unnecessary fuss that Naomi avoids. It basically comes down to the fact that Naomi looks as if she woke up, splashed some water on her face, and wore an amazing Zimmermann dress…. And managed to look stunning. I think I hate her. In a totally irrational ‘I want to be you’ sort of way.
Read MoreKate vs. Diana…Who wore red better during the New Zealand tour?
Wore what: Kicking off their royal tour of New Zealand, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge landed at Wellington airport’s military terminal yesterday – cutest babe-cessory in tow – looking every inch, well, regal. For the official occasion, Kate chose a striking red Catherine Walker coatdress and matching pillbox hat, and the media was quick to remind everyone of the same occasion, over three decades ago, when the late Princess Diana chose a similar look for the same event. Although hers was a black and red look, complete with a contrasting black clutch, Kate wins for the most adorable royal accessory, hands down. Narrowly avoiding puddles before the world’s media, whilst effortlessly carrying an excited 9-month-old in your arms is no mean feat; and we think Kate did a beyond fantastic job! Unsurprisingly though, this makes the job of choosing a winning look near impossible! Who wins: Famed for her gentle nature and beauty that shied away, Princess Diana’s look for the official visit back in 1983 was a fashion triumph: making coats cool as the centrepiece of a look. And this is a tradition that Kate, too, has carried on. From her M Missoni look as a wedding guest to the Maxmara number named after her; she’s elevated the humble coat’s status to party staple so effortlessly, we all want in. Given her respectful ode to Diana’s legendary wardrobe at such an important event, and the fact that we’re struggling to get over the explosive levels of Prince George’s cuteness; we declare both looks as winners. Do you have a favourite look, or are you, too, stuck on both? [Images: Duchess of Cambridge; Princess Diana]

It’s a good day for Alexander McQueen! The label is doing the right thing by vowing to pay all of its interns from now on, and it’s just got even more publicity thanks to one of it’s most famous fans, the Duchess of Cambridge! Although nothing will come close to the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress that Kate Middleton wore for her wedding back in 2011, we think this red hot number might be one of our close second favourites. Bold, red, and totally figure-flattering- what’s not to love about it? Kate Middleton stepped out in this red number back in 2012 at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee River pageant, but her look at the Dramatic Arts reception at Buckingham Palace last night was just as breathtaking. It doesn’t matter how many times Kate steps out in the same outfit as she always finds new ways to dazzle us. Princess power at its finest!

Never have hand-me-downs from your grandmother-in-law been as special, precious, and glittering as the necklace that found itself on Kate Middleton’s neck last night. The Duchess of Cambridge looked radiant, as always, as she attended the annual Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery last night. Our future Queen looked sensational as she attended the event in an inky blue Jenny Packham dress which accentuated her enviably small waist perfectly thanks to the cinched black belt detailing. Although her dress was jaw-dropping, all eyes were on her neck as she was wearing the Queen’s Nizam of Hyderabad diamond necklace – a wedding gift which given her before she became the Queen. Talk about wearing a giant piece of history on your neck! And it goes without saying, but Kate’s hair and make-up were flawless, as usual.

Read MorePippa Middleton’s Best Wedding Looks
Before Pippa Middleton and her now famous derriere were thrust into the spotlight at the wedding of Prince William and Kate in 2011, she was already a regular face in high society circles. With such a full telephone book, Pippa must know every wedding site directory in the country as she has attended a fair few weddings over the years. You probably will have heard all about Kate this year with the news of the Royal baby, so here we center on Pippa and her top wedding guest looks. Caroline Seiber’s wedding Pippa’s latest wedding guest look came in July of this year at the wedding of friend Caroline Seiber in the stunning city of Vienna. Pippa braved the heat with bare legs and a lightweight jacket with one of her signature jaunty fascinators. Pippa wore a crepe tailored dress in bright coral by Matthew Williamson with a pair of dusky pink heels. A simple jewelled neckline and a light watch finished off the look perfectly. Opt for bright colour block like Pippa and her two companions for simple chic. A pair of nude heels is great for a petite frame as they help to give the illusion of longer legs! Pretty pastels Back in 2012, Pippa attended another high society do in Oxfordshire, sporting this pretty pastel outfit with laser cut detailing in her light pink frock. Again, we saw Pippa wear a delicate fascinator and a pair of nude heels with a light weight jacket. Pippa demonstrates that you shouldn’t neglect your own style whatever the occasion. That dress The Alexander McQueen dress Pippa wore to Kate and William’s wedding in 2011 has since been coined ‘the Pippa dress’ and spawned many replicas after the event like this one to the right. Simple and elegant, the dress hugged […]

Kate Middleton and her little sis are no strangers to witnessing their friends and family tie the knot, as they have attended a pretty impressive number of weddings between them over the years. Therefore they both have the fine art of wedding guest dressing down to a tee – and Pippa Middleton attending the wedding of Chanel ambassador Caroline Sieber is another prime example of wedding guest sartorial perfection. Pippa took advantage of the hot weather and wore a gorgeous summery coral dress by Matthew Williamson for the occasion, which she teamed with a lighter hued jacket that also came from the British designer’s collection. She completed her look with a nude fascinator, and a pair of nude heels that her sis and yummy-mummy-to-be would no doubt have approved of. Nice one, Pips! [Image]
Read MoreFill the Kate Middleton void with the ultimate ‘Kate’s Style’ book
Kate Middleton is only days away from giving birth to the future heir to the British throne, which means she’s probably putting her feet up and relaxing in the privacy of her own home. However, her impending motherhood means that we won’t be seeing her performing her royal duties as much as we’d like, which in turn means that our style stalking is going to take a bit of a back seat. Upsetting times, indeed. Don’t despair though, as lifestyle journalist and author Caroline Jones has stepped in with a comprehensive Kate Middleton style file. It documents 40 of Kate’s style hits (not an easy task!) and analyses them in a neat, well-presented, easy-to-understand package. “It took six months, and I started by poring through thousands of pictures of Kate from the last ten years and picking the 40 looks I felt were the most beautiful, iconic or unique,” Caroline told us. “It was hard to narrow it down to just 40 to be honest because she has worn so many gorgeous outfits!” We know it’s not the first K-Mid style file to be published, and it sure as heck won’t be the last, but we think it’s definitely one of the best so far. The author not only documents and analyses Kate’s expertly put together outfits, but she also dishes out style advice so we, the readers, can emulate her style too. It’s not necessarily a copy and paste job, i.e. snapping up the very same outfits she wears, (as that in itself can be quite tricky given the speed in which clothes sell out after she has stepped out in them) but it’s more about knowing how she thinks when it comes to putting her outfits together. We sat down with Caroline Jones to ask her some questions […]
Read MoreRoyal Ascot: Less Katie Price, more Kate Middleton
Royal Ascot. Two words which are met with mixed emotions: dread, fear, excitement and confusion. Royal Ascot is fast approaching, and at best, it’s pretty much just a fun day at the races with our bestest gal pals. We take the day off work, we drink a bit, we laugh a bit, we gamble a bit (naughty!), and we do it all while wearing our nice dresses, sky high heels that get stuck in the grass, and over-the-top hats. It’s all very Sex and the City, and we’re supposed to have a jolly good time. However, Royal Ascot fashion isn’t as simple as a nice dress teamed with some matching accessories though. It’s far more complicated than that. Hence the aforementioned confusion. And as the dress-code for this month’s Royal Ascot is stricter than ever this year, we have a feeling race-goers and official staff alike are going to be dreading it – as it’s just so easy to get it wrong! For many ladies (we’re not naming any names or pointing the finger at any particular counties) the notion of dressing up actually means quite the opposite. Dressing down. Or dressing not-at-all. The more big and glam the event, the more skin some ladies think has to be shown, which is one of the main problems the Royal Ascot faced before the ultra-strict dress code was implemented. Apart from the occasional wedding and lavish cocktail Christmas party, most British ladies don’t really get the chance to properly dress up, which is probably why so many of us get it wrong. The only thing we regularly dress up for is a night on the tiles at the weekend, and we all know that “less is more” is the unanimous clubwear mantra. Great for clubbing while on the pull, not so […]

Kate Middleton is once again doing her bit for charity, this time giving a speech to raise awareness for children’s hospices. Wearing a cute black and white Topshop dress with a Peter Pan collar (don’t bother looking for it, it’s already sold out – shock, horror) Kate gives a moving speech about Children’s Hospice Week in the prerecorded video footage. “As Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices I have been fortunate to see at first hand the remarkable work that they do for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families,” she says. “With our support, those providing children’s palliative care can continue to offer these extraordinary services. It does not bear thinking about what these families would do without this. And as the Duchess of Cambridge says in the video, you can head to togetherforshortlives.org.uk to find out more about Children’s Hospice Week. Well done Kate on another well-delivered speech! Oh and before we forget: Happy second wedding anniversary to Wills and Kate. Is it just us or has the time flown by?
Read MoreKeira Knightley talks weddings and the royals in Marie Claire US March
The UK and US versions of Marie Claire seem to have done a bit of a trade as far as the March issue is concerned. American actress and overall sexpot Megan Fox has appeared on the cover of our glossy, while our very own English rose Keira Knightley is posing pretty for the Stateside issue. Pretty cool, we think. Keira looks just as flawless and gorgeous as ever, but we’re very intrigued by that stunning scarlet dress she is rocking on the cover – we wish we could see slightly more of it, but we have no other complaints. Clearly the most important dress we want to see Keira in is a white one for her upcoming wedding to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton, but she’s not giving too much away in the interview, darn it! She does however open up about Kate Middleton and Prince William’s little’un… “I’m over the moon about the royal baby,” she said. “But I really can’t mount an argument in favour of monarchy. Is that treason? Do I have to turn in my passport?” Uh oh – not sure how well that will go down with the folks in the US of A, who seem to be more obsessed with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge than we are. “Treason” aside, we reckon this’ll be a great issue to get your hands on, so make sure you snap it up when it hits newsstands on February 12th. Since the royal wedding, every time we’ve spotted Kate Middleton in Alexander McQueen, it’s safe to say our heart’s skip a beat. Although nothing quite matches the magic of that wedding dress, the future queen looked resplendent in another stunning McQueen creation at the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year awards. Wearing a green crepe wool gown with a centre slit, the Duchess of Cambridge accessorised with Jimmy Choo heels, an Asprey pendant necklace and beautiful Kiki McDonough earrings. Her first appearance since being discharged from hospital two weeks ago, Kate looked suitably radiant and even showed off a tiny baby bump! Papped here sharing what appears to be a rather funny joke with a dapper-looking David Beckham, the Duchess elegantly brings our 2012 Best Dressed of the Week to a close. Catch us in the New Year for another round of unmissable fashion! Merry Crimbo!

It’s safe to say, 2012 has been a positively chaotic year on many accounts: stealthy fashion musical chairs; the news of a 2013 royal tot, surprise (read: secret) weddings and a fair amount of heartbreak ensued. But one thing far more exciting than all of these juicy prospects combined is the FASHION we witnessed. From Miranda Kerr’s uber-stylish taxi-to-hotel hop, all endless, perfectly bronzed legs and the hottest off-duty ensembles imaginable, to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s ravishing red carpet looks, not forgetting some equally hot lingerie! Diane Kruger left us in a state of fash-induced hyperventilation, thanks to that Christian Dior couture gown whilst Emma Stone really established herself as the unturned stone (excuse the sorrowful pun) of fashion: she.looked.HOT. From Tom Ford to Trapstar, Rihanna has us on trend-led tenterhooks with every outfit she stepped out in, and Alexa, well, she’s just too stylish to even discuss, right? It was the probably the hardest thing we had to do – alongside trying to remember to use Saint Laurent instead of Yves Saint Laurent, and digesting news of R-Patz and K-Stew’s brief split whilst admiring her red carpet looks – but choosing our 10 best dressed celebs of 2012 was a limiting task. After much thought, picking and choosing, editing and loudly conversing (read: arguing) over frills, hems and necklines, we’ve whittled it down to our Top 10. Here’s to 2012’s best dressed ladies…. Taylor Swift Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Rihanna Miranda Kerr Kristen Stewart Emma Stone Diane Kruger Blake Lively Anne Hathaway Alexa Chung Who was your best dressed of 2012?
Read MoreSarah Burton gets OBE, hopes to dress Kate Middleton’s bump
After having what we assume was the best moment of her career last year when she designed Kate Middleton’s stunning wedding dress, Sarah Burton’s 2012 hasn’t been too shabby either. Not only is she embarking on a new personal adventure (she is expecting twins!), her work at Alexander McQueen continues to be groundbreaking and inspired, and she just collected her OBE for services to the British fashion industry at Buckingham Palace as part of the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honour’s List. Congrats, Sarah! The designer received her award from Prince Charles, and the pair reportedly talked about Kate’s iconic wedding dress, while also sending her congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their baby news, saying “I’m over the moon for them.” And when asked whether she would be making any maternity clothes for the expectant Royal mother Sarah reportedly laughed and said, “I hope I will be”. Read MoreAutumn wedding guest outfit picks for the petite lady!
[noskim] Everyone loves a good summer wedding. But let’s face it, summer weddings in England are very few and far between, which is why happy couples continue to plan their big day in the autumn/winter season… at least you know what you’re getting weatherwise and won’t be kidding yourselves. So with that in mind, we’ve been seeking out some wedding-appropriate outfits should any of our friends decide to do a Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and tie the knot any time soon. If like me you’re slightly vertically challenged and are lacking in height, Precis is one of the best ports of call for finding gorgeous petite clothing. We can’t all have Kate Moss legs (sniff)! Here’s a few of my current faves on the website: Autumn Bloom Shift Dress I utterly adore this Autumn Bloom Shift Dress. It has two of the new season’s hottest colours – purple and orange – and has a gorgeous waist defining belt too. I’d pair it with some super-high orange platforms if I’m feeling bold or nude ones if I want the dress to do all the talking and a simple nude/grey shawl to complement the colours. Spot Print Jersey Dress If it’s a fellow-Greek wedding I’ll be attending, I know I’m going to be doing a lot (and I really do mean a lot) of eating, so I’m going to want a dress that lets me do that without restriction. This Spot Print Jersey Dress with its Diane von Furstenberg wrap-style detailing is perfect – and the busy design is wonderfully distracting! I’d definitely wear this with some Anna Dello Russo style bright and chunky accessories! Navy Satin Dress There’s something very Kate Middleton about this dress which is probably why I was instantly drawn to it! This is a great piece […]
Read MoreKate Middleton and The Queen complement each other at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony
Leave it to Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II to colour co-ordinate for the stunning Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games last night. The two ladies who are always impeccably dressed didn’t disappoint us as they sat poised and ready to absorb the entertainment and do their royal duties at the same time. The Duchess of Cambridge wore an intricate beige coat dress by Danish Label DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, and naturally accessorised with her fave LK Bennett shoes and perfect, shiny locks. And yes, before you ask, you have seen it before; she wore it back in 2006 and then again at Zara Phillips’ wedding last summer, but who cares? She looks breathtaking! The Queen also showcased her style credentials in a light peach and silver coat dress, which she accessorised with cream gloves and a matching handbag. We do love our stylish royals, don’t you? We wonder where Harry was… [What Kate Wore]

Read MoreSo…who will design Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress?
Since Brangelina announced their engagement by brandishing a ring costing the equivalent of a modest flat in London in our faces, we decided to amuse ourselves (and you, of course) with Ms Pitt-To-Be’s prospective wedding dress. We didn’t just want to imagine what Angelina would choose for her big day, we actually wanted to ‘create’ it, so to speak. (Keep reading…) Taking a brief look at Angelina’s red carpet appearances so far this year, it’s clear she has an affinity for….. 1. Versace – She opted for directional look on the Golden Globes red carpet in a rather memorable Atelier Versace number, and who can forget the Oscars? Apart from the infamous, knobbly kneed flash of leg on display – which acquired a following of its own – again Angelina picked Versace. Donatella’s designs are clearly number one for the Hollywood superstar, but she does opt for other big names, too. Angelina’s daytime, smart-casual look often lies in a Ralph Lauren suit, and at the 3rd Annual Women in the World Summit last month, she appeared in an androgynous, monochrome Gucci suit. It appears Ms. Jolie is a sucker for classic fashion names, but not without putting a personal and highly unconventional spin on things. She won’t just wear a look fresh-off-the-catwalk, but rather tattoo it (pardon the pun), sartorially, with her initials. And, extreme personalisation, we say, is the way forward when it comes to picking a memorable wedding dress. Ange definitely won’t be succumbing to the ‘meringue culture’ surrounding wedding dresses! (We hope!) So, a lot of you may possibly be thinking Angelina will settle for a Versace bridal number, but the Italian brand isn’t known for its altar-appropriate fashion. However, one wave of Ange’s celeb wand and Donatella would probably be in her atelier working on something […]

Read MoreBest of 2011: Kate Middleton’s year in style
Whether you love her or loathe her (and we don’t believe you if you do the latter), 2011 owes itself solely to one woman: Kate Middleton. Though her style remains distinctly average in our book (string us up and hang us for treason), there’s no denying the effect the Duchess of Cambridge has had on the world. And, since everything she wears sells out in seconds, the fashion brands she favours have got a lot to thank her for. Like everyone else, we’re kind of intrigued with her influence, so we’ve trawled through Kate’s best looks from this year to see her rise from pauper (ha!) to Princess in pictures, which has lead us to the following conclusions: 1) she’s a mega-fan of the high street, 2) she only wears a handful of designers and regurgitates them as necessary, 3) June was a particularly good month. Without further ado, here’s her year in style… January: Reiss Kate wears a Reiss ‘Nanette’ dress for her official engagement photos shot by Mario Testino, and the hysteria begins. April: Alexander McQueen Just another white dress. We’re kidding! Kate gets married in a jaw-dropping Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton and the world stops in its tracks. April: Zara The new Duchess of Cambridge steps out the day after her wedding in another high street dress, this time from Zara. The world applauds her for remaining the peoples’ Princess despite being an official royal. May: Reiss Kate meets Michelle Obama for the first time; everyone gets excited about the pair’s fashion politics. Kate opts for another Reiss dress, nude in colour with a boxy neckline and panelled waistband. June: Jenny Packham Her first charity gala since getting married and Kate opts for a glistening champagne-pink gown by Jenny Packham, which skims the floor […]
