Did Kate Middleton snub Kim Kardashian?

We read some very interesting news over the weekend… It was reported that Kim Kardashian supposedly sent our very own Kate Middleton some freebie dresses from the Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins, but the Duchess of Cambridge politely declined and sent them straight back. “Kim hoped Kate might be seen wearing one of the designs out in public, which would give their fashion credentials a huge boost,” a ‘source’ reportedly told The Daily Star. “And a link with the Royal family would have given them the stepping stone they wanted to be big in the UK. “The Kardashians want to be as big in the UK as they are in America, and think associating themselves with the Royals, especially Kate, will help them achieve that.” With that in mind, one might think that Kim’s pride would have been dented a tad, however fresh reports are suggesting that the whole thing is, for want of a better word, balderdash. Apparently Kim (or any other member of the Kardashian “klan”) never sent anything Kate’s way, which we kind of hope for Kim’s sake is the truth because no one wants a royal snubbing, do they?

Kim Kardashian vs. Fergie in Balmain

Is it a dress or a tuxedo jacket?  Well, that’s not really important here because we’re concerning ourselves with which style maven wore it better! Welcome to this week’s fash off between two fashionable ladies who know how to command the camera in whatever they wear. Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie and Cali queen Kim Kardashian stepped out in the same Balmain stretch tuxedo dress a day apart, and as expected, both put their own spin on it! Fergie made an outing in the Balmain number first, as she was papped arriving at a New York Fashion Week event thrown by Case-Mate. Teaming her tux dress with pointed black pumps and a black cami top worn underneath, Fergie sported her trademark glossy curls and a slick of serious red on her nails. After taking on board rapper beau Kanye’s advice we’ve seen Kim sporting many a sombre ensemble. And this outing in a sharp tux dress is no exception, considering she was on a date night with Mr. West! Kim wore the tuxedo dress with Gianvito Rossi ankle strap sandals, and opted for a risqué look by pinning the lapels high up and going sans cami underneath. We absolutely love the slick silhouette and power shoulders, and although usually expensive, we just can’t resist a sharp Balmain number that’s as hot on the bod as it is on the money! Britney Spears fronts Elle US October, tells us why she could never “be like Kim Kardashian”

Just in case it wasn’t already obvious from her recent public appearances, Britney Spears is back baby! The X Factor USA judge is striking a fierce pose for the October issue of Elle US, while showing off her slim and toned figure in a sexy studded Versace dress. Britney is a bit awkward in front of the camera these days, but that definitely didn’t come across in the cover shoot. Readers are going to be in for a treat this month, as Brit Brit dishes the dirt on her relationship with Jason Trawick, and also tells us that she really is OK with being snapped out in her tracksuit bottoms. “I love my jeans and my sweats-I’m really just a tomboy at heart,” she said. “So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup-and hair-ready every time I go out of my house. I’m not a believer in that, you know? “On the other hand, when you do wear those sweats, you’re like, Oh God, I should step it up a notch.” Aw, Britney. What has Kanye West done to Kim Kardashian?!

Another day, another confusing Kim Kardashian outfit courtesy of Kanye West. We assume. It’s hard to believe that this is the same woman who has left our jaws floor-bound with her red carpet outfit choices on so many occasions in the past… because lately, all we seem to be doing is shaking our heads in disappointment. How can someone who used to be so brave and confident with her fashion choices  – which, may we say, were usually spot on! – think she looks good in an outfit she is spilling out of and is hugging her in all the wrong places? And that’s just the ill-fitting black dress; we haven’t even got to the slouchy boots yet! So Kim might have been denied a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but who cares? That’s not why she captured the world’s attention and hearts. We love her for being herself; after all, that’s pretty much why she got to where she is today. Yes she’s made some bad choices in her life (sartorial and personal – but then again, who hasn’t?) but one thing we always applauded was her rich, varied and usually fabulous style. Dressing for her curvaceous figure (which most women would die for by the way!), experimenting with fashion and generally having fun with her wardrobe. That’s not to say we haven’t loved her black and white wardrobe lately; au contraire, monochrome is one of our favourite timeless trends (just ask Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld) but it’s not the colour scheme we have a problem with. Want to get your hands on Kim Kardashian’s wardrobe?

Say what you want about Kim Kardashian, but one thing the reality TV star does have is one of the most enviable designer wardrobes in the world. Even Carrie Bradshaw would be in awe! You may have noticed that KK’s personal style has changed over the past few months thanks to her rapper-turned-designer boyfriend Kanye West unleashing his stylist on her wardrobe… but where does that leave all of her “unwanted” clothes? It leaves them, sad, alone, vulnerable… and ready for you guys to snap up and give them a good home. Kim’s discarded threads are being put up for auction on eBay, with the majority of the dresses coming in a US size 4 or 6  – which is an 8 or 10 here in the UK –  and the shoes ranging from European sizes 36 and 37. New York magazine on why the fashion world won’t take Kim Kardashian seriously, plus Kardashian Kollection comes to Dorothy Perkins!

Two Kardashian stories for the price of one today – you lucky people! The first story comes courtesy of this week’s New York magazine fashion issue, where Ben Wallace talks to Kim Kardashian about why she still can’t be taken seriously in the fashion world, despite a plethora of successful clothing collections and landing some of the biggest fashion glossy covers around. The whole interview is definitely a worthwhile read, and the pics shot by Pari Dukovic are rather stunning – and a little bit different to what we’re used to from KK – so make sure you check it out here. To whet your appetite though, here’s a snippet from a fashion exec about the lady in question… “I think she sees fashion as another means for making money. I don’t think she’s ever going to want to go to a fashion show for her love of clothes. She’s going to want to get paid for going to that show.” The exec reckons that she should quit all her other jobs to gain acceptance, but do we really think Kim’s momager Kris Jenner would stand for it? Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West launching a joint footwear collection?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, collectively more commonly known as Kimye these days, are already pretty busy (read: filthy stinkin’ rich) people. However, that hasn’t stopped them from taking on yet another project – this time, a shoe line! The potential footwear collection will reportedly be created with French company PPR, which makes sense as K and K were apparently lunching with the brand’s CEO Francois-Henri Pinault (i.e. Salma Hayek’s hubby) last week. “Kim and Kanye had lunch with Francois the other day at the yacht club because they’re trying to negotiate a shoe deal with him,” a ‘source’ told Radar Online. “Francois’ company owns Louis Vuitton, which Kim and Kanye are obviously both big fans of. Nothing is set in stone yet, but they’re really excited about the potential footwear line.” Both K’s have quite a lot of experience in the fashion world (Kanye with his womenswear line and Kim has her Dash boutiques as well as several other collections with her sisters) so we don’t think they’ll struggle too much with this.

In their latest quest for world domination, the Kardashian sisters are looking for a plus-size model to appear in the ads for their brand new denim line, Kardashian Kurves. Now why didn’t we see this coming? The competition is in conjunction with Celebuzz and Sears, and the prize includes being flown to LA for the photoshoot and staying in a swanky hotel for the night so you’re all bright eyed and bushy tailed for your close-up. If you’re over 18 years old and interested in entering, you have until July 30th to submit an essay explaining what being “kurvy and konfident” means to you, and attach a full-length picture (keep it family friendly!) of yourself in your favourite pair of jeans. Instyle UK has teased us over the past few days with silhouette pics of its latest cover star, but now we can finally reveal that the mystery lady is none other than Kim Kardashian! Are you pleased with the decision to feature the Armenian reality TV Queen on the cover? We love the layout of this magazine – there’s something quite special about the contrast of pastel pink with Kim’s dark and sultry hair and make-up. We’re  suckers for a subtle pink lip right now and KK is (slightly Photoshopped) proof of how it can be done properly. Kim Kardashian finally gets her “Vogue” cover!

A slap on the face for a certain editrix who slapped a Met Ball ban on the woman with over 15 million ‘twitters’, or maybe a symbol of a star status well cemented, Kim Kardashian on the July/August issue of L’Uomo Vogue is well and truly surprising. Surprising because the most powerful woman at the helm of the Vogue collection (collectively, say Anna Wintour) has made her intentions clear about letting the reality star-cum-enormous attention amassing Armenian grace the cover of the US version of the publication. Surprising because the Kardashian clan has really had to fight in order to etch their name alongside Hollywood’s elite on wall of fame: they aren’t ‘famous’ for anything, but being famous. Yet here she is, bearing an uncanny, yet strikingly beautiful resemblance to her mother, better known as momager Kris Jenner, on the cover of another Condé Nast edition, and metaphorically raising a two fingered salute to those who deny her the bonafide star status she longs for. The black and white cover image shows Kim Kardashian in a situation she’s comfortably accustomed to – being hounded by the paparazzi, but looking particularly composed and oh-this-is–my life about it. Shot by Francesco Carrozzini, son of Vogue Italia’s ed-in-chief, Franca Sozzani, the shoot took place in LA’s Chinatown, accompanied by a rather aptly titled editorial “Just Unconventional.” Donning a wig, oversized shades and an upturned collar jacket that helps complete her Kris Jenner look, Kim has, what we call in the modern age of accomplishment, made it. Turns out Kim Kardashian wasn’t wearing Spanx with her Stella McCartney dress after all…

On Wednesday, we (along with quite a few other blogs and online publications) commented on Kim Kardashian’s rather strange outfit choice… The reality TV star (and usually impeccable dresser) was sporting a Stella McCartney polka dot panel dress with what we assumed was a pair of Spanx – or something similar in the shapewear department – very visibly underneath. We came to this conclusion because a) we know Kim is a fan of the shape-flattering garments and b) have seen it on Kate Winslet sans the suspicious beige insert inside… Kim took to her blog to clarify a few things, and it turns out the asymmetrical polka dot dress actually came with the beige bit sewn inside. No word of a lie! We didn’t believe her at first so we did some Google-ing and found out that she was indeed telling the truth, as we found picture evidence of the likes of Doutzen Kroes, Anastasia and Kim’s very own mother Kris Jenner sporting different variations of the dress with the flesh insert firmly inside. Well what do you know! We still stick by what we said about not totally digging Kim’s look though. Maybe it’s the stark skin tone contrast or the fact that we’ve seen Kate Winslet rock it better or possibly even the totally inappropriate boots… or a mix of all three? Do Kim Kardashian’s very visible Spanx ruin her Stella McCartney dress?

Oh Kim Kardashian – your rapper-turned-fashion designer boyfriend Kanye West has done wonders for your recent wardrobe, so we cant help but think that this particular sartorial choice had nothing to do with him. Or were all mirrors and lights in your house/changing room temporarily inactive? We rarely see Kim Kardashian looking less than perfect which is why we were a bit shocked to see her out in the cold, harsh light of day sporting some very in your face Spanx. This is a VPL of epic proportions – and then some! What gets us down the most about this look however, is the fact that Kim is wearing a Stella McCartney creation that we know has done wonders for several other curvy female celebs. Remember how hot Kate Winslet looked in it? Surely Kim should know better, so we are disapprovingly wagging our finger at her and her stylists for letting this disaster happen.  And while we’re moaning… we’re not fans of her choice of footwear either! Please don’t do it again Kim – you are one of our style goddesses for a reason, so let’s put this down as a temporary blip.

Rate or Slate: Agyness Deyn vs. Kim Kardashian vs. Laura Haddock

This week’s Rate or Slate consists of some rather interesting dress choices. Agyness Deyn embraced the vivid side of colour, sporting a red House of Holland AW12/13 dress, sheer tights and matching red shoes at the Empire Awards 2012. Kim Kardashian, meanwhile, made sure all eyes were on her and those famed curves, after she turned up to celebrity Blogger Perez Hilton’s Mad Hatter tea party themed 34th birthday bash in a monochrome optical illusion number, complete with fascinator. The Inbetweeners actress Laura Haddock, (who plays Will’s love interest Alison in the movie), opted for a sultry, black lace Emilio Pucci number for the Empire Awards 2012. The looks are in and it’s over to the Style Jury… MFL Fashion New Editor says: ‘None of these outfits particularly wowed me the way last week’s impressive bunch did, and, although my jaw hasn’t hit the floor, I have to admit that all three ladies look lovely!’ Agyness: ‘I love seeing Agyness Deyn unleashing her feminine side, and red is definitely a hot colour for her, although I wish she didn’t wear the tights.’ Kim: ‘As always, Kim looks curvy-licious and beautiful, so no change there.’ Laura: ‘In my opinion, Laura Haddock would win if this were a competition between the three girls, as her look is simple but not safe; definitely a glam and appropriate choice for the Empire Awards.’ You say: ‘Agnyess looks really pretty. STYLE JURY: Rate or Slate Berenice Bejo in Alaïa, BEP Fergie in Jean Paul Gaultier and Kim Kardashian in Antonio Berardi?

With the BAFTAs and the GRAMMY awards battling it out on the same day, there were some memorable fashion moments, and some we’d maybe like to wipe from memory. (Cue Nicki Minaj’s bizarre biblical guise, with the latest in accessories to boot: The Pope!) We selected three red carpet looks: risk taker Fergie at the Grammys in an interestingly loud, cut-out orange lace Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown; Kim Kardashian’s at Clive Martin’s Pre Grammy party in a figure-hugging Antonio Berardi number, which some would say struggled to cope with one out of her two most famous assets, and Berenice Bejo at the Disaronno BAFTA After-Party in a statement making (good or bad, we’re not sure) fall 2011 Alaia haute couture gown. As we indecisively teetered on borderline faux pas and style success, we put these looks to our Style Jury: you, and our Ed! My Fashion Life Ed says: Fergie – ‘I don’t want to like it but for some reason I do. On anyone else this outfit would be a disaster but somehow Fergie manages to pull it off!’. Kim – ‘A bit too much cleavage on show but regardless Kim looks gorgeous and elegant. The dress clings to her curves in all the right places!’. Berenice Bejo – ‘Sophisticated and beautiful! Love the dress and I love Berenice in the dress. Thumbs up!’ You say: Berenice – ‘Rate!’  Fergie – ‘Slate!’  Kim – ‘Rate!’ Verdict: RATE to the power of three! When it comes to evening wear, nobody does it better than Kim Kardashian, and if you don’t believe us, take a look at her turning up to the 2011 Game Changers Awards in New York looking all va-va-voom. Granted, her floor-length red dress was skin-tight, but we say when you’ve got it, flaunt it, girl! Whether she was channelling Jessica Rabbit or not was unconfirmed at the time of publishing, but we certainly suspect so. Of course, Kim would never be seen without her mega-voltage earrings and these gold sparklers ensured all eyes were on her. Arriving at Los Angeles International Airport earlier this week, reality TV star Kim Kardashian definitely rocked the laid back airport look to perfection. The Kardashian sibling stepped off the plane in a pair of oversized sunnies – naturally – gorgeous gold gladiator sandals, a cream polka dot playsuit, and a Louis Vuitton luggage bag to finish off her jet-setting style. Although we’re massive fans of Kim, we have to admit the outfit has one flaw – but just a little one – the playsuit didn’t do much in the way of flattering her famous curves. Don’t you agree? After recently posing naked and being sprayed silver for the cover of W magazine, American reality star Kim Kardashian hasn’t kept her feelings quiet about the shoot – she’s claiming that too much (read: her nipple) is on show, and she’s not happy about it. On her new documentary show, Kourtney and Kim Take New York (we haven’t seen it yet either), the infamous Kardashian sibling moans about how she was misled over how much of her nipples the magazine planned on showing, The Cut reports. “I’ve definitely learned my lesson. I’m never taking my clothes off again, even if it’s for Vogue,” she said. The copy-cat fiasco happened to none other than the super-competitive Kardashians! They both wore the same maxi Myne silk dress – thankfully on different occasions. Of course, the ever stylish and fashion forward Kim managed to out manoeuvre her sister by wearing the dress first. Kim chose the silk dress for her new fragrance campaign, wearing it to a photo shoot session. Kim’s choice of colour was nude to complement her olive skintone, acessorised with gladiator style sandals, gold cuffs, a statement gold necklace and her trademark tumbling curled tresses. Khloe Kardashian, on the other hand, opted for a more bold shade choice with the luminous magenta pink version. Khloe Kardashian Gives Birth To A Baby Girl

Khloe Kardashian has indeed given birth. The reality star welcomed a baby girl yesterday and had Kris Jenner, boyfriend Tristan Thompson and Kim and Kourtney Kardashian by her side. Announcing her pregnancy in December via Instagram with the caption  “My greatest dream realized! We are having a baby! I had been waiting and wondering but God had a plan all along,” the new arrival comes amidst reports of Tristan’s serial infidelity. Luckily Khloe has the support of her family whom have already begun showering her with gifts including a luxury care package which included blankets, organic bath products and a Noitte Fatata custom bassinet courtesy of Kim. We’re still yet to find out the baby’s name or if indeed Khloe will stay with Tristan and reside in Cleveland…

Calvin Klein have enlisted The Kardashian-Jenner sisters for theirlatest ads. Inspired by an Americana theme and shot by Willy Vanderperre, the #MyCalvins Our Family campaign features Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie wearing iconic pieces from the brands denim and underwear line. Speaking about the shoot Kim said, “Family is everything, so when we’re all together doing something special like this, it means so much,” adding “we were all in a group text before saying how lucky we are to do this together and that it’s going to be the best day”. Speculation is rife as to when the pics were actually taken. With Kylie covered in the pictures, naturally rumours of her pregnancy are being fueled further. Khloe, (whom has confirmed her bun in the oven) was definitely in the early stages of her pregnancy during the shooting of the campaign and she shared her thoughts on working with her sisters, “The bond we share is infectious. Even though we pick on each other like normal siblings, we are each other’s biggest supporters …..I want people to see unity, loyalty and strength. We’re a mix of everything, and I think family is the ultimate American dream.”

The world was on Kimye watch over the weekend, keen to catch the first glimpse of blushing bride Kim Kardashian in her wedding dress (she wore Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, by the way!) but Lady Gaga clearly didn’t want to be upstaged. The singer and sartorial risk taker went about her daily business in what definitely looked like a light pink wedding dress, although there are no reports of a quickie marriage to boyfriend Taylor Kinney. Mother Monster accessorised her fairy-tale inspired dress with a chic beige coat (although it didn’t do a very good job of hiding the dress if that’s what she was going for), a black tote and some ultra cool black sunnies. Kim weds Kanye in Givenchy!

It’s a wrap folks. Kimye have finally tied the knot and after much speculation, it looks like it was a Givenchy affair. Kim opted on Givenchy by Ricardo Tisci for her big day and so did Kanye and baby North West too. Tying the knot in Florence the wedding was as extravagant as ever….sadly a number of guests declined to attend…. Anna Wintour, JayZ and Beyonce and Rob Kardashian all failed to make an appearance… Anna blamed family commitments. It’s speculated JayZ and Beyonce chose not to attend to avoid a run in with designer Rachel Roy and Rob ditched the wedding at the last minute due to a family spat. Of course, many did show up to celebrate with the couple. Guests included Andre Leon Talley, LaLa Anthony, The Pussycat Dolls Robin Antin, rapper Common and Chrissy Tiegen (who committed a fashion faux pas along with Kris Jenner). The highlight of the evening however was John Legend’s tribute to the duo Dedicating his hit All of me to the couple, in his speech Legend said, ‘Kim. He was so in to you before he was even with you. He is in love with you. I am so happy to see you two together.” All in all it looks as though it all went well without too many hitches.
