Get huge lips and skinny hips

I’m in a bit of a quandary about this product. I can’t decide if it is genius or spectacularly sinister. Huge Lips Skinny Hips by New York cosmetics brand Purple Lab is a lip plumping gloss with added natural appetite suppressant, Hoodia Gordoni. The company describes it as a “ground breaking lip gloss offering non-invasive access to the lips and hips women have always dreamed about. The Hoodia, the same substance that can be found in many slimming pills, works by mimicking the effects of glucose on the brain, tricking it into thinking you’ve just eaten. While Vitamin B3 stimulates blood flow to the lips surface and diminishes wrinkles around the lip edge. There’s also lemon peel oil to cool lips and extracts of meadow foam plant moisturize.

This week they were named the highest earning stars under the age of 21, beating Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame and Lindsay Lohan of, well, we’re not sure really. Of course it’s the paparazzi photos of the twins’ perfectly dishevelled hair and artfully mismatched designer accessories that seems to have got them noticed on this side of the pond – but personal style is not all they’ve been turning their hand to of late.

i-D Magazine’s 25th Anniversary

Fashion and Textile Museum Celebrates i-D Magazine’s 25th Anniversary with Groundbreaking Exhibition Open to Public: 14 October 2005 Press View: 13 October 1-3pm 2005 marks the 25th anniversary of i-D Magazine. To celebrate, the Fashion and Textile Museum is proud to announce the forthcoming launch of an ambitious and comprehensive touring exhibition directed and curated by Terry Jones, the magazine’s founder, creative director and editor-in-chief. The exhibition will visit Paris, Tokyo, New York, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Beijing throughout 2006 and encompass five decades of cutting-edge creativity traced through i-D’s rich archive, from its beginnings in 1980 to the present day. Reinforcing the magazine’s position as the founder of all style magazines, it will also capture the essence of i-D, whose premise from its conception has been to empower people to express their own ideas and their individual identity. “The revolutionary aesthetic and philosophy of i-D Magazine have provided us with a bold monitor of our times” says Gity Monsef, Creative Director of FTM. “The Fashion and Textile Museum is proud to be collaborating with i-D for this seminal exhibition which will chart the 25-year history of our most visionary style publication.” The exhibition will use ‘identity’ as a central theme and explore this concept in its myriad of forms. Appealing to all five senses on a multi-dimensional level, it will do so with the use of still images, short films, 3-D sound, graphics and scent. Soundtracks featuring music and voices from around the world will form part of the installation, whilst perfumers from Symrise Inc. will work with i-D’s scent curators to create unique fragrances that epitomise the five eras that make up the magazine’s history.
